There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is the best of all.–Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
One of the greatest gifts adults can give—to their offspring and to their society—is to read to children. —Carl Sagan Reading is important, because if you can read, you can learn anything about everything and everything about anything. —Tomie dePaola I can't enough about reading. Reading is everything. I love literature and my goal is to make each child a reader. Reading is the gateway to everything. I live this and I believe this wholeheartedly. I don't just preach it. I live it! |
About me
My name is Yanilsa Griffin and my family is everything.
I am really excited to be teaching your kiddos at Lakeview. This is my second year at Lakeview but my 7th year as a teacher. I teach Spanish 1 and sponsor/coach the cheer team. I was born in Puerto Rico, but my family relocated to Irving, TX when I was a teenager. After high school, I attended UNT and earned my bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Spanish. I am currently seeking my master's degree in Spanish and I am really looking forward to completing this next milestone. My husband, John, and I have 4 children and about 7 years ago took in a half sibling, so now we say we have 5 kiddos. Our youngest 2 are a sophomore and junior at TCHS and keep us busy with cheer and soccer. Should the kids activities' not have us running all over town, I will either be reading, spending time with family/friends or driving through the metroplex pretending I'm a foodie.

“A different language is a different vision of life.” Federico Fellini
